You can take a make-up exam with no penalty if:

You have a good and verifiable reason why you could not take the exam at the scheduled time.

You promptly inform me and arrange to do the make-up.
If you do not have a good reason, or it is not verifiable, or you were not prompt in arranging to do the make-up, you can still take the make-up exam but there will be a penalty of 10% of your grade for each week day you are late in taking it. For example, if an exam was on a Monday and you take the make-up the following Wednesday, without having a good and verifiable reason why you could not do it Monday, and you get 75% on the make-up exam, your penalty is 75*0.2 = 15%, leaving you with a score of 60%.
